We’ve put together an early draft of our scout picks for Gameweek 10 of the Fantasy Premier League (FPL).
Selections will be completed closer to Saturday’s deadline and will depend on upcoming Scout Squad nominations and pre-game press conferences.
But these early picks at least provide some insight into the players being considered.
ABOUT THE SCOUT SELECTS “BUS TEAM”.
As always, certain restrictions apply to our squad:
- A budget of £83.0 million for our starting XI
- A total squad limit of £100.0m
- No more than three players per team
GAME WEEK 10 GAMES

Above: The Gameweek 10 games sorted by difficulty on our site Season ticker.
The game at Anfield is difficult to decide as the two teams are in opposite forms. Liverpool have lost four times in a row and Aston Villa have the same number of consecutive wins.
Tottenham Hotspur v Chelsea could go either way, while second-placed Bournemouth are having a great time but need to visit Manchester City.
THE LIKELY GUYS

Meanwhile, Arsenal and Newcastle United have attractive trips to Burnley and West Ham United, but these come just days before the Champions League game. That could mean rotation.
Gabriel Magalhaes (£6.4m) and Jurrien Timber (£6.0m), FPL’s leading pair of defenders, should continue to start at Turf Moor. The Gunners are looking for a fourth straight clean sheet after allowing just five big chances in nine games.

As for Newcastle, Dan Burns (£5.1m) feels like a safe starter while their other left-back options are injured. West Ham keep conceding goals from set pieces, so this 1.80 meter tall aerial attack could lead to success on both sides.
To stay with the big Magpies, the availability of four wingers makes sense Nick Woltemade (£7.5m) the safest route into their attack. On Saturday he hit the post with a superb opening goal, preventing his fifth goal in six league games.
Another informal blanker was Erling Haaland (£14.7m) – still the only Man City player to score more than once in the league. He feels kind of non-negotiable at this point.
Elsewhere, despite Bruno Fernandes (£8.9m) With him on penalties and rewarding solid defensive contributions (DefCon), it’s hard to ignore his teammate Bryan Mbeumo (£8.1m) at the moment. His goal in Liverpool was followed by a brace against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.
The 26-year-old may be FPL’s second-best midfielder in terms of points, but he is number one in his position when it comes to shots (23) and shots on goal (12). A trip to Nottingham Forest seems to have come at just the right time.
In an argument

It’s admittedly difficult to choose an Arsenal attacker. Both Bukayo Saka (£10.0m) and Viktor Gyokeres (£9.0m) are consecutive gaps – five for the latter, with his midfield colleague leaving after 65 minutes to manage his playing time.
Instead, it was like this God bless you (£7.6m), who won Sunday’s game against Crystal Palace, scoring their fourth attacking success in six games.
Speaking of their former club, the Eagles’ 19-game unbeaten streak in all competitions was followed by three out of four defeats. But home to Brentford begins a great run of games that will probably ensure that Jean Philippe Mateta (£7.7m) will be a very popular Gameweek 10 replacement for Gyokeres or Joao Pedro (£7.5m).

Only Haaland has more shots (29), shots on goal (16) and expected goal participation (xGI, 8.37) than him as a full-back Daniel Munoz (£5.6m) is the best defender in the league for the latter two. With this Picks XI bus costing significantly less than £83.0 million, the Colombian is an affordable luxury.
Bernd Leno (£5.0m) is between the sticks because he plays at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers and we don’t yet know the status of the injured defender Joachim Andersen (£4.5m). Issa Diop (£4.4m) could be represented.
Over at Everton, Indian education (£6.5m) is an all-round midfielder. He takes penalties, only gets beaten by Mohammed Jerusalem (£6.8m) for take-ons (46), is number one in the entire league for expected assists (xA, 2.16), likes to shoot and has delivered DefCon rewards three times. The winger’s problem is this Beto (£5.3m) never fails to cause excitement!
The longer shots

This time Ndiaye faces Sunderland’s solid defence Nordi Mukiele (£4.1m) seems to be the best choice at the moment.
Raul Jiménez (£6.2m), who faces his former club Wolves, has potential having bagged an assist at the weekend. But there are several strikers ahead of him in the pecking order.
It is also advisable to never rule anything out Antoine Semenyo (£8.1m). Sunday’s quiet performance was just his third gap in nine games and it’s not like there’s anything to fear from Man City’s defence.
Finally, Yankuba Minteh (£6.0m) is an interesting difference. So far, no one has had more touches in the penalty area (63) and he secured an assist in the 9th game week. Brighton plays at home against Leeds United.
